Holiday flight delays

The Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest passenger airports in the country for the holiday season. Do you remember the disaster Jetblue last year? Sitting on the runway for 8 hours! JetBlue and other airlines have made changes, but there are things you can do to make your trip a little 'less stressful.

U.S. airlines, 27 million more passengers during the week before and after the holiday. This is an increase of 4% above normal (about 600,000 more passengers toDay). This inevitably means that, if you travel this season is a good chance that you will be late. What to do? Read on:

1. Get information in real-time airport delay before leaving the house. This site is brought to you by the FAA. For more information on this site by clicking on your airport.

2. Check-in, before arriving so all you have to do is leave your stuff, show your ID and your way (depending on airlineTravel with). I did it with American Airlines, JetBlue and United, although many others are on-line service - only for their site.

3. If you are delayed or canceled flights, the airlines call the 1-800 number while you are always in line with the next available flight. Are you at the bar, do not leave until he gets on another flight which is acceptable. This also means you can count on another airline to ask them to do so if they do not offer.

4. Move as much as you domay, if you pass through security. The less stuff you have, the faster it will come. Be sure to check items they bring, and can not.

5. This means that it should bring a few things to make your wait a bit 'more fun. A couple of things that you can take are: a favorite book, your laptop (many airports offer financial or hook up), puzzle books, handheld games and otherwise), or for some work by electronic means (.

6. If you have children be sure to pack extra snacks,Diapers, formula and toys, or favorite games. Diapers and formula are expensive and / or not available at the airport.

7. A warm coat is a good point, if you use it as a pillow or blanket to sleep / rest.

8. Bring patience and a sense of joy during the holiday trip and know that you are not alone inside. There are 26 million people in the same situation.

Happy Thanksgiving and a good trip!
