Shadow of the Colossus Review

This is one of the games that is so rare and doesn't fit into any category, because the game is a category its self, this is an action game, adventure game, puzzle game, horror game all smashed into one.Shadows of the colossus sounds like a simple game, sure search for colossus and find its weakness, stab it.

This is not the whole story here folks. This game slowly reveals it self to be something with more complexity and mystery. Every journey you take to find each colossus makes you go through beautiful landscapes, that can feel dreamlike but yet it feel so real.

You will travel from a large cliff overlooking a river and from the river to a thick and lone forest, and then you might find your self in a desert. Since the environment is so big, you get to travel by horse, courtesy of aggro, the best animated animal in the game. Controlling the horse can be complex, and the artificial intelligence in the game is so developed that it keeps you from riding the gorse off a cliff. Through the game you will be armed with a sword and bow.

Each colossus you face, will require careful thinking, experimentation, trial and error because there are many ways to defeat them. You can tell the designers have a lot of imagination while creating this colossus. There are sixteen boss battles, but there is nothing like the rush you experience while discovering the keys to defeating these beasts. If you still own a PlayStation 2 and want to experience something challenging and beautiful then picking this game up is a must because games like this don't come to often.
