Rothenburg ob der Tauber - medieval charm in Modern Day

uneven cobblestones, stocky short, gates, at the age of half-timbered houses, and all contained in a thick stone wall impressive - it has just entered Rothenburg ob der Tauber. One of the most visited cities in Germany, Rothenburg oozes with medieval charm. And why not? Its history dates back to 970 AD, and the walls have seen their share of time.

In view of the Tauber, Rothenburg has survived centuries of wars and natural disasters, usingthe generous donations from all over the world. This is not surprising as the charming small town takes the visitor into another time, with a step in its doors. The old buildings stand as a witness of how life used to - small businesses that help in everyday life, but they are mixed together is ... which is not hard to imagine if the buildings are one can be connected to others. The city of folklore handed down from generation to generation and tells theMillions of tourists (pun intended, as stated in a moment) in these drinks sometimes amazing stories. The most famous legend is that the mayor Nusca.

Rothenburg suffered occupation during the Thirty Years War, despite strong opposition from its citizens. In an act of a joke, it was the occupying power, the general, that the city was saved from destruction, if anyone could drink, West Germany, Rothenburg a jug of wine on a train (which is a huge 3.25 liters! ). Mr.Nusca came to drink and put his skills (and liver, no doubt) to the test - and saved the city. As a tribute, houses Taverna councils' mechanical figures that act out the story to watch 11, 12, clock 01:00, 02:00, 09:00 and every day. Crowds gather in the courtyard to see an engine Nusca drink his city, rescue, and the surprise is going to look.

Another attractive sight in Rothenburg in the Church of St. James. Built in High Gothic style, its soaring, vaulted ceilingearly visitors feel small and insignificant - a perfect state for the service. The two towers inappropriate to maintain a history of their evil. Presumably designed two different men - the sample was on the south tower and his apprentice took the north. When construction is completed, the apprentice has established a streamlined and prominent tower. Full of anger and jealousy, the suicide committed by the master himself at the head of his backyard. Despitehigh ceilings and lethal towers, the attraction to St. James for many of his sanctuary. Legend has it that three drops of blood of Christ in a crystal, which now have been richly carved altar in the center of the Holy Blood captured.

Rothenburg is quaint, picturesque, and deserves all the puzzle - especially in winter. Despite the poor weather and cold temperatures, many brave the elements for a look at this delightful little town with a fishingSnow. The lights shone in their icy surfaces and is decorated all the way down to Christmas. Germany is famous for its "Christmas Market" (Christmas market) and Rothenburg rivals them all. In addition to the normal hot sausages, roasted chestnuts and mulled wine market offers a variety of Rothenburg's medieval-inspired crafts and jewelry, the perfect city personality.

Full of charm and charisma, promises Rothenburg ob der Tauber, aglorious medieval festival from the modern world, at any time of year.
